As of this writing we are a country who still has not chosen a leader going forward.

The people came together and voted, but there have been so many issues and many believe outright fraud with the ballots.

So the question is going forward how do we respond? Can we trust the system that we have now?

I believe no matter what, with so many cracks being revealed with in the voting system, no matter what side wins, Republican or Democrat, the other side will believe that “the man in the White House” will be illegitimate.

Along these lines, President Trump’s lawyers will be filing actions to deal with some of the inconsistencies they believe are taking place starting tomorrow.

So how should we as followers of Christ respond?

First I will not pretend I don’t have a dog in this fight. I voted for a candidate, and I want him to win.

That said, as angry as I may be at how things have gone, I am reminded of the call from scripture to pray for those in leadership. Keep in mind that during the time that command was given, Rome was in power, and they were not fans of the followers of “The Way” as believers were labeled at that time.

So no matter what happens, whoever is in power, we are to pray for our leadership.

This doesn’t mean we have to like them, or even respect the person, but we do have to pray for them, that God would work in their heart.

I am reminding myself as much of this, as I am writing it for you.

So with this in mind, I will offer these final thoughts,

It is God who puts leaders in authority, and it is God who removes them.

Remember that everything political has a spiritual root.

Above all, no matter what comes in these days, we must pray up, armor up, and war strong.

God bless,
